Jon is a passionate problem-solver who is driven by finding the hidden “win-win” in a given challenge. With over 10 years of experience in benefits consulting and health plan experience, Jon has advised benefits strategy for Fortune 50 national corporations and led Commercial Product Innovation for Priority Health. He has accepted his identity as a “benefits nerd”, while also enjoying providing the highest level of client service.
In his free time, Jon enjoys getting outside with his family, rowing, and building computers.
John is responsible for group benefit plans relating to health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. Under his leadership, the firm is expanding its self-funded business as well as human resource management services. John brings his clients 28 years of industry experience.
Shannon values working closely with business leaders to make a positive impact at their organization. With over 6 years of experience at a major HRIS company, her skills include consulting with organizations on their HR processes and creating efficiencies within the employee lifecycle. She understands the importance of clear communication and meeting deadlines. Her outgoing nature and ability to communicate across many levels makes her an important part of our team.
In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends and anything outside during the warmer months.
As an advisor, Chris partners with clients to develop benefit strategies that meet organizational goals, budgets and company culture. From his background in accounting, he has a talent in picking out trends arising from claims data, reviewing analytics and negotiating renewal pricing with underwriters that serve his client’s well. He is an advocate in the healthcare world for his clients and their employees.
On a personal note, Chris enjoys family and friends, especially while traveling, playing golf or boating. He is also a ‘Proud Papa’ to three grandsons!.
As Strategic Operations Advisor, Alicia has the opportunity to lead the Employee Benefits Department every day. The focus of her role is to ensure the Department is operating at maximum efficiency, which allows us to ensure that our client’s needs and expectations are consistently exceeded. She accomplishes this efficiency through her strong communication, ability to maximize resources and staying true to Rose Street’s core values. Alicia’s tenure with Rose Street began in 2016 as our Maxwell Health Champion. She then spent time as a Employee Benefit Advisor where she built long lasting relationships with her clients that remain in place today even with her role change.
In her spare time, Alicia tries to keep up with her very busy son, volunteers as a Big Sister for the Big Brother, Big Sister organization, and makes sure to spend as much time outside as she possibly can.
Ben Cohen, CEBS, is one of our large group Employee Benefits Relationship Managers. Following graduation from Central Michigan University (Fire Up Chips!) with a degree in Human Resources, Ben spent 18 years as a benefits consultant with Kushner & Company before joining RSA in 2014. Ben’s daily focus is working with clients to offer benefit options that help recruit and retain a productive workforce in a compliant and cost-effective manner designed specifically for each employer. He also enjoys educating employees about their benefits in a fun and informative manner.
Outside of work, Ben is passionate about community involvement and volunteering. Ben also loves spending time at home and at their cottage in South Haven with his wife, Jen, and their dogs. He loves travel, cars, reading on the front porch, golf, and sailing (on friends’ boats!).
Justine is a devoted and meticulous team member with a passion to educate and support business partners and their employees. Since 2013, Justine’s commitment to her clients has allowed her to instill confidence and stability in the benefits packages offered to their employees. Her strengths allow her to communicate efficiently, focus on customization and understand the complexities of an ever changing industry. She is a Dale Carnegie Graduate and has her NAHU Self-Funded Certification.
When she is not working, Justine is busy running her son and daughter to their practices and games and volunteering in the community. She enjoys playing golf, hiking and spending time with her family and friends.
Kristen Donner-porter joined the Rose Street team in 2022 as an Employee Benefits Client Specialist and promoted to Relationship Manager a year later. In this role she works closely with the Relationship Managers as well as with carriers obtain quotes and problem-solving client questions. Prior to joining Rose Street Advisors, Kristen earned her Bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University and worked as an educator.
Outside of work, Kristen enjoys spending time with her family, reading, cooking, and traveling to Northern Michigan.
Lindsey joined the Rose Street team in 2023, as the administrative assistant. She is dedicated to the client experience and quickly promoted to join the Employee Benefits Team as the System Specialist and promoted again to Relationship Manager.
She is a Southwest Michigan native who enjoys spending her free time with her husband and animals, camping, golfing, and going up North to the family property.
Christine joined Rose Street Advisors in June of 2023 as an Employee Benefits Relationship Manager. While the benefits arena is new to her, given her years in business management she feels ready to take on this new challenge. She looks forward to working closely with the small group clients to insure they receive the outstanding service they’ve come to expect from Rose Street Advisors.
In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, going to the movies and playing cards.
Meet Shanyn, she joined the Rose Street team in 2023 as the Administrative Assistant and half year later promoted into our Employee Benefits Team as the System Specialist.
With a degree in Integrated Marketing Communication, she also assists the marketing team with blogs, social media posts, and website design.
As a sports fanatic, Shanyn loves to golf, mountain bike, and spend time on the lake with family and friends.
Meet Kelly! Kelly is one of our Employee Benefits Client Specialists. She joined the Rose Street team in 2024. She is looking forward to learning a new aspect of the HR process by providing benefit options to our amazing local clients. Outside of RSA, she enjoys spending time with her family and dogs traveling to the mountains or spending time with friends.
Laurie is an employee benefits relationship manager. She values working with her clients and their employees, striving to develop the most cost-effective and valued benefits for their employees, She specializes in the mid-to-large size employer groups. Laurie joined the RSA team in 2006, with previous experience in both hospital billing and carrier claims processing and customer service – her benefits experience is well-rounded. She is passionate about benefits – her favorite part of the job is employer and employee education on all things benefits.
When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family (including the four-legged variety), crafting, cooking and tending to her flower gardens.
Meet Jaime, a professional with over 20 years of experience in HR, recruiting and administrative work along with 10 years of benefits administration. Jaime has the advantage of having experience as the employee and the employer and is passionate about delivering the best quality work while being meticulous about all the details.
In her free time Jaime enjoys watching her kids play sports, cooking, reading, golfing, and spending time with her family, her beloved dog, and her friends.
Laura Rohlfs, SHRM-CP, is one of our Employee Benefits Relationship Manager. Laura has worked for over 25 years in Human Resources. Most of her roles had a focus on Employee Benefits Administration. This gives her a great perspective of what our client’s needs are with the administration of their employee benefits. Laura loves to help our clients with enrollment, billing, and claims questions and issues. She also works closely with carriers getting quotes and resolutions to client’s questions.
Outside of work, Laura loves the outdoors. In the summer you will find her where the water is. Either in her pool, kayaking, or floating behind her husband’s fishing boat while he fishes. She also enjoys camping and spending time with her family and friends.
Jill is our in house Client Advocate. She assists our Employee Benefits Clients with claim issues. Jill has 29 years of Employee Benefits experience with involvement in all areas of Employee Benefits. Her expertise is getting complex issues resolved due to her knowledge and passion for helping people. In addition to assisting with claim issues, Jill educates members on how to utilize their benefits in simple terms.
Jill spends her personal time with family and friends. Whenever possible, she is found outside gardening or simply enjoying nature.
Mark joined Rose Street in 2017 and helps clients with their estate, business succession, and family/business planning through the use of life insurance products. In 2024 Mark obtained the Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®) designation.
He loves golf, skiing, hiking, and reading. Fun fact: Mark has both played and coached tennis at the collegiate level.
As Principal and CEO, Rob spearheads the vision, drive for growth, and pursuit of excellence at Rose Street Advisors.
Rob loves being outdoors with his wife Erin and kids. He has slalom skied for the past 35 years, never missing a season. He also enjoys spending time at the lake and on the golf course.
Since 1993, Craig has worked extensively in the life insurance, employee benefits and investment areas at Rose Street where he assists clients in designing, implementing and monitoring their programs. In free time, craig enjoys watching college football, traveling and golfing.
Theresa is a life insurance case design specialist. She is responsible for individual life, disability, and long-term care insurance quotes and client presentations. Theresa has more than 30 years of industry experience.
Vanessa is our New Business Coordinator. She is responsible for coordinating insurance underwriting in our life insurance department. Her duties include insurance applications, assessing clients’ background and financial status, collaborating with specialists to gather information, and advocating for the best possible offer from the insurance carriers.
On her free time, she enjoys rooting for the Maize and Blue, traveling with family, and photography.
Debbie is the estate planning and business insurance administrator. She is responsible for all aspects of post-issue policy service for individual life, disability, and long-term care insurance; as well as corporate-owned life insurance (COLI).
Jeremy is passionate about partnering with individuals and families to identify what is important in their lives and creating a comprehensive financial strategy to help them reach their life goals. This holistic approach allows Jeremy and the wealth management team to ensure the specific needs of the client are front and center as they make investment recommendations and collaboratively design custom-tailored financial plans.
Jeremy has a professional track record starting, leading, and managing for-profit and non-profit organizations. He is a graduate of Taylor University and has completed business programs at both Hong Kong Baptist University & Harvard Business School. Jeremy is also formally trained and certified in behavioral assessment, conflict management and life coaching. Jeremy, his wife Kim and their 4 kids reside in Kalamazoo. They love spending time exploring the outdoors, fixing up their farmhouse, and living life with friends and extended family. Fun fact: Jeremy has been playing drums since he was 13 years old and made callbacks for the Blue Man Group.
Since 2012 at Rose Street, Scott has been responsible for helping the firm’s individual wealth management clients with income strategies for retirement and consulting with employers with their employee retirement plans. In free time, he enjoys golf, biking, skiing, cooking, and traveling. Fun fact, Scott has a hobby of filling growlers with coins!
Meet Julia, a people-focused life-long learner with several years of experience in the retirement plan industry. Throughout her career, Julia has been committed to maintaining strong client relationships by providing incredible customer service. She is passionate about helping clients define and plan for their retirement goals. Julia’s daily role at the firm energizes and reinforces her commitment to client-focused work.
Meet Cory, he joined Rose Street in 2021 as a client service representative for the wealth management and retirement team. After serving in the U.S. Army, he went to WMU to receive his bachelor’s degree in finance and is currently pursuing his MBA. His role in the department is to support the financial advisors and assist the clients they serve.
Meet Kevin Brozovich, energetic entrepreneur, people-focused team-builder and HR practitioner-turned consultant. For almost 10 years, Kevin was Founder and Chief People Officer of HRM Innovations, a Kalamazoo-based Human Resources consulting firm many would consider the top in the region.
After pulling his hair out making daily decisions about running the business (does it matter where the coffee comes from?), Kevin joined forces with the Rose Street Advisors team so he could solely focus on what he loves most: working with clients.
He is also the founder and creator of the FunSocks blog, an HR blog for industry professionals that focuses on monthly hot topics.
Meet Norman, a career HR professional who brings more than twenty-five years of experience working in the public sector, credit union, retail and insurance industries. He looks forward to providing human resources project, consulting support and guidance to a variety of customers. In his free time, Norman enjoys family, golf, fantasy football, theater, singing and Disney!
Meet Stephanie, with over a decade of comprehensive experience in Human Resources, Stephanie has honed her expertise in talent acquisition, compensation planning, organizational development, and employee relations, becoming a trusted advisor to a diverse range of clients.
Before joining Rose Street Advisors, Stephanie built a solid foundation in HR through her roles in various industries, including manufacturing and transportation. She distinguishes herself with her strategic approach and commitment to enhancing workplace culture. Her favorite days in Human Resources are those where she truly makes a difference to an employee’s life or aids in finding a solution to a difficult workplace issue. Stephanie holds a Bachelor’s degree in HR Management from Western Michigan University and is a SHRM certified professional. In her free time, you can find her traveling the world with her husband or taking her 2 dogs to the park.
Meet Emily, a people-focused HR professional with over 10 years of corporate human resources experience, primarily focused on recruiting, system management, and process development. Throughout her career, Emily has been committed to developing strong client relationships and providing exceptional customer service. In her free time, Emily enjoys traveling, camping in her vintage Airstream, gardening, DIY projects with her husband, and watching her son at sporting events.
Terri Lahr joined Rose Street Advisors in 1998 and worked her way up through various positions, including the Executive Assistant, Underwriter, Compliance Officer, and Department Manager.
In 2010, she became the first female owner of the firm and now serves as Principal and Chief Operating Officer, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the firm’s Finance, Marketing, Technology, and Human Resources departments.
Lahr is dedicated to creating a positive work culture for the firm’s employees and ensuring they have the tools and support to provide excellent service to clients.
As Business Operations Manager, Erica is responsible for managing the day-to-day systems, technology, equipment, and processes used by the team to serve clients. As well as, overseeing and maintaining the building. She also collaborates closely with the firm’s marketing and advertising team. Erica has been with Rose Street Advisors since 2009 and previously worked with the life insurance team, where she coordinated the necessary information for new life insurance and disability policies.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, baking, and crafting.
Meet Josilyn! She is our Administrative Assistant, and has been with Rose Street Advisors since 2024. She enjoys the hustle and bustle of keeping the building going as well as taking advantage of any opportunity she can to incorporate her creative flair. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, and spoiling her 2 kitties rotten
Laura joined Rose Street Advisors in 2021 as the Firm Accountant. Her responsibilities include keeping financial records updated, preparing reports and reconciling bank statements. Laura will also run accounting software programs to process business transactions, like accounts payable and receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers and receipts.
