Rotary Is For Reading

Rotary is for Reading is a program that the Kalamazoo Rotary has formed to support 2nd grade students in Kalamazoo Public Schools.  The goal of the program is to teach students to take their work seriously, understand the importance of school, and ultimately take advantage of The Kalamazoo Promise. Author Jennifer Clark, and illustrator Leslie Helakoski, worked with Kalamazoo Schools and also with the Rotary is for Reading committee, to come up with a book that is specific to the 2nd graders in Kalamazoo. We at Rose Street Advisors were able to partner with the Douglass Community Center and Sid Ellis in particular, who is a master storyteller, to read the book on video. It will then be distributed to all of the 2nd graders in Kalamazoo this year. We are excited to provide students with the experience of having the book read to them by a Master Storyteller.  Book Title:  What Do You See (In Room 21C?)

Kevin Brozovich

Meet Kevin Brozovich, energetic entrepreneur, people-focused team-builder and HR practitioner-turned consultant. For almost 10 years, Kevin was Founder and Chief People Officer of HRM Innovations, a Kalamazoo-based Human Resources consulting firm many would consider the top in the region. After pulling his hair out making daily decisions about running the business (does it matter where the coffee comes from?), Kevin joined forces with the Rose Street Advisors team so he could solely focus on what he loves most: working with clients.

Pet Care Kits

Each month, our community involvement team, “RSA Give” partners with one organization to give back to the Kalamazoo area. This month, we partnered with the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan to pack pet care kits for the homeless. RSA Give was started in 2017 as an opportunity for Rose Street employees to engage in giving back to our community. Our goal with the program is to have a positive impact on our local community through charitable giving while exemplifying Rose Street’s own core values of being generous, committed, focused and connected to the community we reside in. The City of Kalamazoo is currently dealing with a growing homeless population and pets are proven to bring help and joy to those in need. The cost of pet care can be unaffordable. So our goal is to make it more feasible to care for a pet. A meal train for the homeless has also been started by community members, you can fill a time slot to drop off food here.

Alison Goyings

Alison Goyings has succeeded Ben Cohen as the RSA give leader this year. She is an Employee Benefits Client Specialist at Rose Street. Outside of work, Alison enjoys rooting on the Detroit Tigers and Michigan State Spartans, ice fishing, traveling, and volunteering for Make-A-Wish Michigan.
